Our History

In FY 2009, Exide Technologies (NASDAQ: XIDE) created ReStore Energy Systems as a division dedicated to the development and pursuit of new markets for industry-leading, renewable energy storage and high-performance, large-capacity lithium ion battery systems.

For more than 100 years, Exide has been a leader in developing innovative energy storage technologies for a wide variety of industrial and transportation applications. Its traditional technology is lead acid with expanding opportunities in advanced lead acid chemistries, and Exide is one of the largest secondary lead recyclers in the world. In November 2008, Exide acquired the assets of lithium ion battery pack assembler Mountain Power of Delta, British Columbia, in order to add lithium ion capabilities to its product portfolio.

ReStore Energy Systems is leveraging the strengths of both product platforms to serve the needs of an increasingly power-hungry world. Consistent with the longevity of Exide, our organizations are operating with a long-term view of the future of energy storage. We believe renewable energy storage and lithium ion technologies have the potential to become a significant strategic growth driver for our organization.
